CMD Group are delighted to announce that The International Federation of Training & Development Organisations (IFTDO) have elected Chris McDonagh as Chairperson of the Board for 2023 and 2024.

Chris is the founder and joint Managing Partner, of CMD Group. Established in 1994, CMD Group are experts in improving business performance through developing people, leaders and management both as individuals and teams within the business sector.
IFTDO was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1972 in order to develop and maintain a worldwide network committed to the identification, development and transfer of knowledge, skills and technology to enhance personal growth, human performance, productivity and sustainable development.
IFTDO is the most multinational, multicultural Training and Development Organisation in the world with a truly diverse Board of Directors leading the organisation. Our members from a highly diverse network of human resource management and development organisations globally, linking HR professionals in HR societies, corporations, universities, consultancies, government organisations and enterprises. IFTDO currently represents more than 500,000 professionals in over 30 countries.
Chris joined the Board of IFTDO in 2019 as the representative for Europe. During his term on the board, he has served as Chair of the Membership Services committee and the Conference and Certification committee.
Speaking on his election Chris said he was honoured to be elected to this high-level position. He said his appointment comes at a critical time in the life of IFTDO. This year the organisation celebrated 50 years in existence. Chris is aware of the massive challenges he faces in positioning the organisation in a global economy that has changed at an enormous pace and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Like all membership-based organisations value and benefits are key to their continued success. Chris’s role will be to lead a team to evaluate IFTDO’s role and place on the global stage and to ensure it continues to be the voice for Training & Development across the globe for years to come.
